Leanne Lake supporting a customer

The DIB are working in partnership with Torus Foundation on the New Leaf Programme which consists of Mentors, IT Training and Financial Inclusion.  The programme works alongside many other partners covering Cheshire East who support participants in confidence building,  job searching support and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).  Mentors support long-term unemployed people find work across Cheshire East. The project will focus on people with a physical disabilities, learning difficulty, mental health issue or low basic skills, working with participants on an individual basis, helping them to identify barriers, fears, needs and aspirations they may have and formulate a plan of progress. We will help in a number of ways including:  CVs, job applications, training opportunities, voluntary placements to gain confidence, gaining qualifications – all with the end goal of finding suitable employment and education.
